Having overcome the unexpected hurdle that the Covid-19 pandemic threw at them, they are delighted to now be able to open this fantastic new centre and start serving the Illawarra community.
The brand new state of the art Wollongong Foot and Ankle Centre will feature a modern rehab gym and ultrasound facilities alongside specially designed consulting rooms for Dr Meghan Dares and Tim Bransdon’s Wollongong Podiatry team. Also, understanding that many patients may have some difficulty arriving on foot, there is ample parking at the centre.
Dr Meghan Dares is an Australian-trained orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in surgery of the foot and ankle. Having gained international and local experience at prestigious hospitals in South Africa, the UK, and Australia, Dr Dares has been serving the Illawarra community for the last two years.
“I’ve really enjoyed living and working in the region, helping members of the community to get back on their feet. I am really passionate about providing a more comprehensive service which led to the concept of creating the Wollongong Foot and Ankle Centre. I am really excited to further collaborate with Tim and combine the best of our skills all under one roof in the Wollongong Foot and Ankle Centre. I can’t wait to move in and start using the facilities to help the people of the Illawarra”
Tim Bransdon, owner of Wollongong Podiatry, has been serving the region for 10 years, constantly testing, innovating and developing new and improved ways to combat foot and ankle ailments for his patients. Tim is recognised domestically and internationally as a leader in his field, teaching his StrongFeet™ and Running Lab programs to practitioners and coaches.
Tim says: “The Wollongong Foot and Ankle Centre is a project we have been working on for some time. COVID-19 threw a spanner in the works but we are thrilled to be back up running and ready to launch the centre this month. The new centre looks fantastic and I cannot wait to help our patients using our superb new rehab gym facilities”.
Working alongside Tim and Meghan, the CEO of the new centre, Wynter Dares comes from a background as a Management Consultant having spent many years consulting with numerous multinational ASX listed companies.
“Coming from a non-health background provides a unique perspective, I am really passionate about how we can create a centre built around the needs of our patients and really offer a seamless patient experience. I have found that healthcare services are often fragmented and can be challenging for patients to navigate, we are looking to change this and provide a truly integrated service.
Dr Meghan Dares alongside Tim Bransdon, Wynter Dares and the Wollongong Podiatry team will be officially opening and welcoming patients from Monday 17th August.
